We reach these commitment goals by ensuring compliance with The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, The Jeanne Clery Act, VAWA, SaVE, Drug Free Schools and Campuses regulations and University Student Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook. Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.

 

Title IX Scope

Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in all university programs and activities, including, but not limited to, admissions, recruiting, financial aid, academic programs, student services, counseling and guidance, discipline, treatment of pregnant and parenting students, class assignment, grading, recreation, athletics, housing, and employment.

Title IX states:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
